Equipment Lowering with Engine Stopped

Usage:

993K Z9K

  • Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.

  • Move the hydraulic lockout control to the UNLOCKED position.

  • Push the lift control to the LOWER position in order to lower the work tool to the ground. The lift control will return to the HOLD position when the control lever is released.

  • Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position.

  • Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position.

    Note: If the work tool will not lower, the pilot supply on/off solenoid may be inoperable. In this case, proceed to Step 6.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury or death may occur from failure to adhere to the following warnings.

    Keep all personnel away from the boom drop area when lowering the boom with the engine stopped.

    Keep all personnel away from the front linkage when lowering the boom.

  • There is a group of diagnostic pressure taps to the right of the service center on the right side of the machine. A valve is located beneath the diagnostic pressure taps. This valve is used for manually lowering the work tool. Slowly turn the square stem in the clockwise direction. The square stem should be rotated 90 degrees. After the work tool is resting on the ground, rotate the square stem counterclockwise.
