The screens for the brake cooling circuit filter any debris that is in the hydraulic oil. The screens prevent debris from the service brakes from contaminating the oil that is in the brake cooling circuit.
During normal operation, the oil flows through screen assembly (3) to oil outlet port (2). The oil then flows to the hydraulic tank for the brake system. Screen assembly (3) stops any debris that is in the oil.
Correct maintenance recommendations must be followed in order to ensure that the screen assembly does not become plugged with debris. If the screen assembly is plugged, the flow of oil to the cooling circuit stops.
