A New Assembly Procedure will Prevent the Hydraulic Oil Filter Base from Loosening {5068}

Usage:

D3G CFC
Track-Type Tractor:
D3G (S/N: CFC1-UP; CFF1-UP)
D4G (S/N: FDC1-UP; CFN1-UP)
D5G (S/N: FDH1-UP; FDW1-UP)

Description of Change: A new assembly procedure will prevent the bolts that are securing the hydraulic oil filter base to the mounting bracket from loosening. The new procedure utilizes a thread lock compound. Also, the torque for the bolt (1) has been increased.

Adaptable To: The 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound is now used on bolt (1). The new torque for bolt (1) is 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft). The new assembly procedure is effective with serial numbers that are listed in Table 1.

Table 1
Model     Serial Number Effectivity
D3G     (S/N: CFC381-UP; CFF368-UP)
D4G     (S/N: CFN424-UP; FDC303-UP)
D5G     (S/N: FDH885-UP; FDW504-UP)

Note: The hydraulic oil filter base may become loose on machines that are not listed in the effectivity above. Machines that were built prior to the machines that are listed above can be reworked with the following procedure. The new procedure is adaptable to all machines.

  1. Remove bolts (1) that are securing the hydraulic oil filter base to the mounting bracket.

  1. Apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound onto bolts (1) .

  1. Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft).
