Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

1. Remove the bolts from lever housing (1) .

2. Separate lever housing (1) from the main control valve body in order to disconnect the inner lever from the valve stem. Disconnect the inner lever from the valve stem.

3. Remove lever housing (1) from the top of the control valve body.

4. Remove the O-ring seal from lever housing (1) .

5. Loosen the bolt and nut (3) in order to remove lever (2) from the shaft.

6. Remove cover (4) and the gasket from lever housing (1) .

7. Remove bolt (7) .

8. Pull shaft (5) out of the lever housing and remove lever (6) .

9. Remove seal (9) and bearing (8) from lever housing (1) .

10. Remove bearing (10) from lever housing (1) .

11. Remove the bolts and pull detent assembly (11) from the control valve body.

    Note: The detent assembly contains the detent balls. Ensure that the detent balls are contained when the detent assembly is removed.

12. Remove the two O-ring seals from detent assembly (11) .

13. Remove plugs (16), O-ring seals (15), springs (14), seats (13), and balls (12) from detent assembly (11) .

14. Remove valve stem assembly (17) from the valve body.

15. Compress spring (20) and remove retainers (22) from the groove in bolt (18) .

16. Release the tension on spring (20).

17. Remove the spring and retainer (19) from bolt (18) .

18. Remove bolt (18) from the end of valve stem (21) .

19. Remove cover (23) and cover (24) from the control valve body.

20. Remove the O-ring seals from the covers.

21. Remove springs (26) and retainers (25) from each side of the valve body.

22. Remove the valve stem from the valve body.

23. Install a 3/8" - 16 NC forged eyebolt in plugs (27).

24. Pull the plugs, the O-ring seals, the springs, and the valves from each side of the valve body.

25. Remove plug (28), plug (29), the O-ring seals, the springs and the valves from the valve body.

26. Remove plug (30), the O-ring seal, the spring, and the valve from the valve body.

27. Remove plugs (31) and nuts (32) as a unit from the valve body.

28. Remove the shims, the springs, the rods and the valves from the valve body.

29. Remove the O-ring seals from plugs (31) .

30. Remove nuts (32) from plugs (31) .

31. Remove pins (35) from screws (34) .

32. Remove nuts (36) from screws (34) .

33. Remove screws (34) from plugs (31) .

34. Remove O-ring seals (33) from screws (34) .

35. Remove body (37) and the O-ring seals from the valve body.
