Bottom Guard (Rear Axle) - Remove and Install

Usage:

545 2FZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.

  1. Support guard (2) with a suitable floor jack and cribbing.

  1. Remove two bolts (1) and the washers.

  1. Lower the front of guard (2). Slide guard (2) toward the front of the machine in order to disengage the rear locking lug.

  1. Use the floor jack to remove guard (2). The weight of the guard is 20 kg (45 lb).

  1. Support guard (3) with a suitable floor jack and cribbing.

  1. Remove six bolts (4) and the washers from the rear of guard (3) .

  1. Remove six bolts (5) and the washers from the front of guard (3) .

  1. Use the floor jack to remove guard (3). The weight of the guard is 129 kg (285 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Use cribbing and a suitable floor jack to raise guard (3) into position. The weight of the guard is 129 kg (285 lb).

  1. Install six bolts (5) and the washers in the front of guard (3) .

  1. Install six bolts (4) and the washers in the rear of guard (3). Remove the floor jack and cribbing.

  1. Use cribbing and a suitable floor jack to raise guard (2) into position. The weight of the guard is 20 kg (45 lb).

  1. Slide guard (2) toward the rear of the machine in order to engage the locking lug.

  1. Install two bolts (1) and the washers. Remove the cribbing and the floor jack.

End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
