Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the tilt cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove".

Note: Use straps and a suitable lifting device in order to hold the tilt cylinder in place during the disassembly procedure.

1. Remove the bearings from the cylinder and from the rod by using the following procedure:

   1. Remove seals (1) from the cylinder and rod.

   2. Use Tooling (C) and a press in order to remove bearings (2) from the cylinder and rod.

2. Install the cylinder on Tooling (A), if necessary. Remove the plugs from the openings. Slowly extend and retract the cylinder rod in order to push the oil out of the cylinder.

3. Remove four bolts (17) that hold head (16) in cylinder (3) .

4. Pull cylinder rod (18), piston (5) and head (16) out of cylinder (3) .

5. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove nut (4) that holds piston (5) in place on cylinder rod (18) .

6. Remove piston (5) and washer (14) from cylinder rod (18) .

7. Remove wear ring (12) and seal assembly (13) from the piston.

8. Remove head (16) from cylinder rod (18) .

9. Remove wear ring (8) and seals (9), (10) and (11) from the inside diameter of head (8) .

10. Remove seal (6), ring (7) and seal (15) from the outside diameter of head (8) .
