Description of Change: A new housing for the speed/timing sensor and a new speed/timing sensor are being used in order to improve the reliability of the speed signal at low cranking speeds.
Adaptable To: For G3600 vee engines, the 154-8714 Housing is cancelled and replaced by the 253-8894 Housing. For G3600 in-line engines, the 196-6039 Housing is cancelled and replaced by the 253-8893 Housing.
The new sensor is the 191-8305 Speed Sensor Gp (ENGINE SPEED, TIMING). The old 189-9266 Speed Sensor Gp (ENGINE SPEED, TIMING) has not been cancelled.
Table 1 lists the new parts and the former parts. Table 2 lists the serial number effectivity for the new housing and for the new speed/timing sensor.
