Note: Before assembly, lubricate the discs with the lubricant that is in the transmission. Assemble plates (2) and discs (5) so that a steel plate is at each end of the pack. Assemble two steel plates at the end of the disc pack if you are using twelve plates (2) .

(6) The rubber toric seals and all surfaces that are contacting the rubber toric seals must be clean and dry at assembly. Apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings prior to assembly. Seal rings must be assembled square with the bore. The toric seals must not bulge. The toric seals must not twist.

(7) Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the setscrew thread.

(8) Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the setscrew thread.

(9) Lubricate seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Measure the thickness of disc and plate pack (A). Adjust brake piston (3) with three setscrews (7). Adjust to dimension (A) plus 3 mm (0.1 inch) depth from the end of the spline in brake anchor (4). Lock the three setscrews in place with setscrews (8) .

(A) This information is for earlier models. The early models have no set screws in the piston.
