(3) Lubricate the seal with the fluid that is being filtered.

(4) Do not use an air wrench to tighten the filter housing. Make sure that the shoulder of the filter housing contacts the bottom of the oil filter base.

(9) Lubricate the O-ring with a minimal amount of the lubricant that is being sealed.
