Procedure for installing the tube assembly

1. Position seat (7) in the center of the top surface of the injector.

2. Insert tube assembly (4) into the manifold. Next, insert the other end of the tube assembly into seat (7) that is on the injector.

3. Thread flare nut (5) into the manifold and tighten the flare nut by hand. Continue tightening by hand until the flare nut is seated on fitting (6) .

4. Insert bolts (3) through the flange for the tube assembly. Thread the bolts into the unit injector. Ensure that seat (7) is positioned correctly under the tube assembly. Hand tighten the bolts evenly.

5. Install unit injector clamp (1). Tighten bolt (2) for the unit injector clamp to 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft). The unit injector must bottom in the bore of the cylinder head. The flange for the tube assembly must be parallel to the top surface of the unit injector.

6. Tighten flare nut (5) to 40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft).

7. Loosen flare nut (5). Again, tighten the flare nut to 40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft).

8. Tighten bolts (3) to 3 ± 1 N·m (27 ± 9 lb in).

9. Tighten bolts (3) to 5 ± 1 N·m (44 ± 9 lb in).

10. Tighten bolt (2) for unit injector clamp (1) again to 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).
