Use the following procedure to tighten the cylinder head bolts:

1. Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant to all bolt threads.

2. Tighten bolts 1 through 20 according to the number sequence.

   Torque ... 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)

3. Tighten bolts 1 through 20 according to the number sequence.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft)

4. Tighten bolts 1 through 20 according to the number sequence again.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft)

5. Install the rocker arm group.

6. Tighten bolts 21 through 26 according to the number sequence.

   Torque ... 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)

7. Tighten bolts 21 through 26 according to the number sequence.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft)

8. Tighten bolts 21 through 26 according to the number sequence again.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft)

9. Tighten the 3/8 inch bolts (2) .

   Torque ... 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)

10. Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant to the stud threads.

11. Tighten studs (3) .

    Torque ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

New cylinder head thickness ... 125 ± 0.25 mm (4.9213 ± 0.0098 inch)

(5) Plug

For installation, apply 6V-6640 Sealant to the plug's threads. (6) Depth of the plug in the cylinder head ... 2.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.08 ± 0.02 inch)

(7) Plug

For installation, apply 6V-6640 Sealant to the plug's threads. (8) Depth of the plug in the cylinder head (six places) ... 4.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.18 ± 0.02 inch)

(9) Plug

For installation, apply 6V-6640 Sealant to the plug's threads. (10) Depth of the plug in the cylinder head (six places) ... 2.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.08 ± 0.02 inch)
