(1) Ignition module

(2) Nut

Tighten the nut for the connectors to the following components: transformers, combustion buffers and ignition module. Tighten the nut in a clockwise motion. Tighten the connectors with 6V-0006 Connector Pliers until the nuts cannot be loosened by hand.

(3) Bolt

Install the lockwasher between the ignition module and the ground strap. Scrape off any paint from the ignition module in the washer seating area.

Torque ... 25 ± 6 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft)

(4) Seal

Lubricate the bore with clean engine oil.

(5) Ignition transformer

(7) Spark plug

Always use a new gasket when a spark plug is installed. Install the spark plug gasket with the tangs toward the sealing face of the spark plug.

Torque ... 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 4 lb ft)

Spark plug gap ... 0.28 ± 0.05 mm (0.011 ± 0.002 inch)

(8) High voltage terminal

(9) Flange (ground)

Test the high voltage side of the transformer by measuring the resistance between the high voltage terminal (8) and the flange (9) .

High voltage resistance ... 5,000 to 12,000 ohms

Test the low voltage side of the transformer by measuring the resistance between Pin (A) and Pin (B) of the transformer.

Low voltage resistance ... 0.2 to 2.0 ohms
