The programmable options are accessible through the LCD and the keypad. See illustration 1. The illustration shows the time and the date. The time and the date will not be shown on all units. Only the units with the C/D plant exerciser option will show the time and the date.

In order to become familiar with the options that are loaded into a particular unit, scroll through the "SET" and "CNFG" menus. These menus will show the descriptions of the options. These menus are used to access the settings and/or the configuration of the programmable options. The "SET" menu is primarily used to change the settings for the timers and the voltage monitoring. The "CNFG" menu is used to turn on an option or the "CNFG" menu is used to turn off an option. When you scroll through these menus, no changes can be made until you enter an access code (1). The access code is a six digit code that is set by the factory. The access code is located on a white label on the back of the unit. See illustration 2.
The MX200 has many logic options. Each controller is downloaded with options at the time of manufacture. When you order a Caterpillar transfer switch, the options for the controller will be determined. The following lists include all the options that can reside in the controller. Not all of the units include all of the options.
"SET" Menu
The following list is a list of all of the settings that are possible in the "SET" menu:

Access the "SET" menu by pressing the "2" key on the keypad. Then, use the "2" key and the "3" key in order to scroll through the settings. In order to select a setting, press the "4" key. Then, enter the access code (1). After entering the access code, press the "4" key. Then use the "2" key and the "3" key to select the new value for the setting. Then press the "4" key. Repeat this procedure until the settings are correct. Press the "1" key in order to exit the "SET" menu.
"CNFG" Menu
The following list is a list of all of the possible settings in the "CNFG" menu:
- "N OVER VOLTAGE" (Optional Setting)
- "N UNDER FREQ" (Optional Setting)
- "N OVER FREQ" (Optional Setting)
- "E OVER VOLTAGE" (Optional Setting)
- "E OVER FREQ" (Optional Setting)

Access the "CNFG" menu by pressing the "3" key on the keypad. Then, use the "2" key and the "3" key in order to scroll through the settings. In order to select a setting, press the "4" key. Then enter the access code. After entering the access code, press the "4" key. Use the "3" key to choose "ON" or "OFF". Then press the "4" key. Repeat this procedure until the settings are correct. Press the "1" key in order to exit the "CNFG" menu.
"ALT" Menu
Access the "ALT" menu by pressing the "1" key on the keypad. There are three screens in the "ALT" menu. You can scroll through the screens by using the "2" key and the "3" key.

The first screen is the "SOURCE CONDITION" screen. See illustration 4. This screen displays the line to line voltage of both of the power sources. The frequency of both power sources is also shown. This screen will remain on the LCD, until a transfer occurs. This screen is also an alternate main screen.

The second screen is the "MAINTENANCE" screen. See illustration 5. This screen provides a test of the LED indicators that are above the LCD. In order to start the test, press the "4" key. This screen will revert to the "SYSTEM OPERATIONAL" screen after five seconds.

The last screen shows information about the system. See illustration 6. The following list defines the information that is shown on the screen.
"SERIAL NUMBER" - This information is the serial number of the transfer switch. The serial number is unique to each transfer switch.
"TRANSFERS" - This information is the number of transfers to the emergency power source.
"HOURS IN EMER" - This information shows the total number of hours that the transfer switch has provided emergency power to the load.
"V#" - This information is the version number of the software.
