Bucket - Remove and Install

To facilitate removal of the bucket pins without causing damage to the pins, the bearings, and/or the O-ring seals put the bucket on the floor and the stick in a vertical position, as shown. |
- Position the bucket, the stick and the bucket control linkage on the ground.

Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g00880305 - Remove the nuts and retaining bolt (5) and remove bucket pin (4).
- Pull link assembly (1) away from the bucket. Remove two O-ring seals (3).
- Remove the nuts and retaining bolt (2).

- Remove pin (8) and the O-ring seals. Separate the stick from bucket (9).
Note: The weight of the bucket (9 ) is approximately
240 kg (530 lb) .

Note: Make sure that the stick pin bore, the bucket pin bores, the bucket pins, the flange and the O-ring seals are thoroughly clean prior to installation of the bucket.
Note: Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the O-ring seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
- Lower the stick into bucket (9) and align the pin bores. Move the bucket until one side of the bucket makes contact with the stick. Measure the clearance between the bucket and the stick.
- Apply Tooling (A) on bucket pin (8). Install bucket pin (8) and the O-ring seals. Align the retaining bolt hole in the bucket pin with the retaining bolt hole in the bucket. Install retaining bolt (7) and nuts (6).

Illustration 5 g00880305 - Align the pin bore in link assembly (1) with the pin bores in the bucket.
- Apply Tooling (A) on bucket pin (4). Install bucket pin (4) and O-ring seals (3).
- Align the retaining bolt hole in the bucket pin with the retaining bolt hole in the bucket. Install retaining bolt (5) and the nuts.

Illustration 6 g00357378 - Use the following procedure in order to tighten all the nuts:
- Position the outside nut even with the end of the retaining bolt or
0.5 mm (0.02 inch) beyond the end of the retaining bolt. - Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut to a torque of
70 ± 15 N·m (50 ± 10 lb ft) .
- Position the outside nut even with the end of the retaining bolt or
- Lubricate the bucket control linkage. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7421, "Bucket Linkage - Lubricate" for the correct procedure.
