General Information (Pilot System)
The pilot hydraulic system consists of a medium pressure pilot oil pump that is driven by the rear of the swing pump. All pumps are driven by the engine. Oil flow from the medium pressure pilot pump is directed to the pilot oil filter where the oil is filtered. Oil is also directed to the pump control solenoid valve and relief valve housed in the pilot manifold where the downstream pilot pressure is set. From the pilot oil filter, the pilot oil flows to the steering priority valve before flowing to the pilot manifold. From the pilot manifold, pilot pressure oil is always made available to the operator controls for various functions.
When the hydraulic lockout lever in the operator compartment is in the LOCKED position, pilot oil is blocked to the operator controls for implement functions. When the hydraulic lockout lever is in the UNLOCKED position, pilot pressure oil is sent to the operator controls, enabling implement operation and travel.
The pilot manifold contains a number of subcomponents that will be discussed in greater detail.
