Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Remove and Install

Start By:
- Remove the crankcase guard.
- Remove the power train guard.
- Remove the rear drive shaft.
- Remove the rear compactor wheels.
- Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Remove cover (2).
- Remove two bolts (3) and the washers. Remove two bolts (4) and the washers.

Illustration 2 g03688394 - Position a suitable floor jack under bottom rear axle guard (7). The weight of bottom rear axle guard (7) is approximately
66 kg (146 lb) . - Remove the bolts, the washers, and plate (5). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the rear axle guard.
- Remove bolts (6) and the washers. Repeat this step for the opposite side of the rear axle guard.

Illustration 3 g03688402 - Remove bolts (8) and the washers. Use the suitable floor jack to carefully lower bottom rear axle guard (7) and remove from the machine.

46 kg (100 lb) . - Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for the opposite side of the machine.

Remove the suitable lifting device from oscillating axle (14). Use Tooling (B) to move oscillating axle (14) from under the machine.

- Install oscillating axle (14) in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten nuts (15) and (16) to a torque of
450 ± 50 N·m (332 ± 37 lb ft) . Tighten nuts (15) an additional 120° ± 10°.
- Tighten nuts (15) and (16) to a torque of
