Introduction

This Technical Information Bulletin replaces the Technical Information Bulletin July, "Relocating the Grease Fitting for the Boom Cylinder on Certain Excavators". Disregard this document. Refer to the following information instead.

Problem

The operator cannot access the grease fitting for the boom cylinder from the ground on certain compact radius machines. The grease fitting on the boom cylinder for a machine with a standard configuration is oriented differently. The operator can access the grease fitting from the ground on a machine that has a standard configuration.

Solution

If the operator cannot access the grease fitting, relocate the fitting. Relocating the fitting will allow the operator to grease the boom cylinder from the ground. Use the information that follows in order to relocate the grease fitting.
