303C CR and 303.5C CR Mini Hydraulic Excavators Hydraulic System Caterpillar

Hydraulic System Pressure - Release

Usage:

303C CR BXT

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

----------------------

  1. Lower all implements to the ground.

  1. Shut off the engine.

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Place the console in the DOWN position. Move the control levers through the full range of travel. This will relieve any pressure that may be present in the pilot system.

  1. Slowly loosen the hydraulic tank air breather cap in order to release the pressure.

  1. Tighten the hydraulic tank air breather cap.

  1. The pressure in the hydraulic system has now been released.
