Gear Motor - Remove

Usage:

CVP16 A1E

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. For the CVP40, remove the frame. Refer to the Service Manual, "Frame - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before operating any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

After collecting all fluids in suitable containers, dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

    CVP40

  1. It is important to mark hoses (2) and (3) for future installation for future installation onto gear motor (1) .

    Note: Each hose on the CVP16, and CVP40 vibratory compactor has a coupling that attaches to the fittings on gear motor (1). Refer to Illustration 1.

    Note: Each hose on the CVP75 and CVP110 vibratory compactors are connected to gear motor (1) by two half flanges, four bolts, and four washers. Check the O-rings for any wear or damage.

  1. Remove hose (2) from gear motor (1). Cap hose (2) in order to prevent contamination. Cap the fitting on the motor in order to prevent contamination.

  1. Remove hose (3) from gear motor (1). Cap hose (3) in order to prevent contamination. Cap the fitting on the motor in order to prevent contamination.

  1. Remove two bolts (4) and the two washers in order to remove gear motor (1) .

    Note: The CVP16 motor is attached by two allen head bolts (4). It will be necessary to use an "8mm" allen wrench (6) with a ball end in order to remove the bolts.

  1. Remove two bolts (4) and the two washers in order to remove gear motor (1) .

  1. Remove gear motor (1) from eccentric weight shaft (5). Refer to Table 1 for the weight of the gear motor.

  1. Remove O-ring (6) from the gear motor.

  1. Remove lip seal (7) .

  1. Inspect the splines on the shaft of the motor for wear.
