Installation Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before installation, all components and mating surfaces should be clean. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Inspect all gaskets and seals. If any gaskets or seals are worn or damaged, use new gaskets or seals for replacement. Lubricate all O-ring seals with the fluid that is being sealed. All installation procedures should be performed in a clean work area.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to the top of radiator (26). Position radiator (26) on the right hand module. Radiator (26) weighs approximately 1000 kg (2205 lb).

- Install four bolts (27), the washers, and the mounts to radiator (26). Tighten bolts (27) to a torque of 475 ± 50 N·m (350 ± 37 lb ft).

- At each of the two upper mounts, install cap (24), two bolts (25), and the washers that secure the top of the radiator.

- Connect electrical connectors (21) and (22) at the sensors in the top of the radiator. Use new tie straps (23) to secure the wiring harness along the back of the top tank and over the top right edge of the radiator.

- Use four bolts (17) and the washers to install elbow (18) at the top right side of the radiator.

- Use four bolts (19) and the washers to install elbow (20) at the top left side of the radiator.
- Use four bolts (15) and the washers to install elbow (16) at the bottom right side of the radiator.

- Use four bolts (13) and the washers to install elbow (14) at the bottom left side of the radiator.

- Use two people to position refrigerant condenser (12) on the radiator. Refrigerant condenser (12) weighs approximately 30 kg (66 lb). Use four bolts (11), the washers, and the nuts to secure refrigerant condenser (12) to the radiator.

- Use two people to position panel (10) on the right side of the engine enclosure. Panel (10) weighs approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Use four bolts (9) and the washers to secure panel (10) .

- Use two people to position panel (8) at the left side of the engine enclosure. Panel (8) weighs approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Use ten bolts (7) and the washers to secure panel (8) .

- Attach Tooling (A) (not shown) to cover (5). Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Cover (5) weighs approximately 90 kg (198 lb). Position cover (5) above the radiator. Use eight bolts (6) and the washers to secure cover (5) .

- Use four bolts (2), two plates (3), four clips (4), the nuts, and the washers to secure hand rail (1) to the other hand rails.

- Fill the radiator with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change". Check for leaks.
