Quick Coupler Operation - Double Action (If Equipped)

Usage:

315C ANF

Operation

  • The engine start switch must be on.

  • The engine should be running.

  • The hydraulic lockout control must be in the UNLOCKED position in order to operate the quick coupler controls.

  • During the operation, the alarm will sound.

Reset the Quick Coupler Controls

Operation of the quick coupler may be interrupted by moving the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position. The quick coupler controls will be disabled. Use the procedures that follow in order to reset the quick coupler control.

  • Return the quick coupler switch to the OFF position.

  • Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and then turn the engine start switch to the ON position.

  • Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position.

Securing the Work Tool

Inspect the quick coupler engagement before operating the machine.

Serious injury or death may result from improperly engaged coupler.

  1. Position the work tool on a level surface.

  1. Retract the bucket cylinder. Position the quick coupler in alignment between the hinges of the work tool.

    (1) Lower bosses

    (2) Hinges

  1. Move the stick forward and raise the stick until the lower bosses (1) engage the hinges (2) of the work tool.

    (1) Off

    (2) Locked

    (3) Unlocked

  1. Rotate the switch for the quick coupler to the UNLOCKED position in order to extend the wedge. The switch for the quick coupler is located rearward of the left armrest.

    Note: Whenever the wedge is extended, a warning alarm will sound.

    (3) Center bosses

    (4) Locking area

  1. Extend the bucket cylinder in order to rotate the quick coupler toward the work tool.

    Center bosses (3) must engage with the cut-out of the hinge.

  1. Move the switch for the quick coupler to the LOCKED position in order to retract the wedge.

    The springs in the quick coupler will move the wedge into the locking area (4) .

  1. Return the switch to the OFF position.

  1. Raise the boom or raise the stick. The work tool is locked in place. The work tool is ready to use.

Releasing the Work Tool

------ WARNING! ------

Place the work tool or bucket in a safe position before disengaging the coupler. Disengaging the coupler will release the work tool or bucket from control of the operator.

Serious injury or death may result from disengaging the work tool or bucket when it is in an unstable position or carrying a load.

  1. Level the bucket or level the work tool on the ground.

  1. Rotate the switch to the UNLOCKED position (3) in order to extend the wedge. The switch for the quick coupler is located rearward of the left armrest.

    Note: Whenever the wedge is extended, a warning alarm will sound.

  1. Retract the bucket cylinder in order to move the quick coupler toward the machine.

  1. Move the switch for the quick coupler to the LOCKED position in order to retract the wedge.

  1. Lower the stick and move the stick toward the machine in order to disengage the quick coupler.
