  • Description of Change: The spring seat washer is now a serviceable component in the rocker arm cover base assembly. Formerly, this washer was not available for parts service. The illustration shows the location of the spring seat washer (1) in the rocker arm cover base assembly.

    Adaptable To: The 120-4339 Spring Seat Washer (1) is a serviceable component in the 120-7412 Rocker Arm Base Assembly in the 3500B Series Machine Engines.

    This illustration shows the location of the 120-4339 Spring Seat Washer (1) in the 120-7412 Rocker Arm Base Assembly .

    There are 2 methods (Method A and Method B) that can be used to install the 120-4339 Spring Seat Washer (1) in the 120-7412 Rocker Arm Base Assembly .

    Method A

    1. Be sure that the contact surfaces of the spring seat washer and the rocker arm base assembly are clean.

    1. Apply a bead of Loctite Corporation Acrylic Adhesive Number 332 to the contact surface of the rocker arm base assembly.

    1. Put the spring seat washer in position in the rocker arm base assembly. Push the spring seat washer into position in the rocker arm base assembly with an axial load of 4.5 kg (10 lb).

    1. Remove the excess adhesive.

    Method B

    1. Be sure that the contact surfaces of the spring seat washer and the rocker arm base assembly are clean.

    1. Put the spring seat washer in position in the rocker arm base assembly.

    1. Stake the rocker arm base assembly at six equally spaced places in order to hold the spring seat washer in place.
