Main Hydraulic Pump - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the main hydraulic pump and the pump drive coupling. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Hydraulic Pump - Remove" in this manual.


NOTICE

Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly.

To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Ensure that gear surfaces align. Never force parts during assembly.

  1. Remove two socket head bolts (1) and pilot pump (2) from the main hydraulic pump. Remove the O-ring seal from the cover of the main hydraulic pump.

  1. Remove four socket head bolts (3) and pressure and flow compensator valve (4) from the rear body assembly.

  1. Use the following procedure to disassemble pressure and flow compensator valve (4) .

    Note: Keep the parts of pressure and flow compensator valves (4) and (46) separate. Do not mix the components of the valves.

    1. Remove eight O-ring seals (6) and one O-ring seal (5) from the valve body.

      Note: There is slight spring pressure behind cover (8) .

    1. Remove four socket head bolts (7) and cover (8) from the valve body.

    1. Remove five O-ring seals (11), pin (12), sleeve (10) and spring (9) from the valve body.

    1. Remove case (13) and the piston (not shown) from the valve body. Remove O-ring seal (14) from the case.

    1. Remove retaining ring (16), spring (15) and the seat from the valve body.

      Note: There is slight spring pressure behind cover (17) .

    1. Remove four socket head bolts (18) and cover (17) .

    1. Remove O-ring seal (22), spring (21), spring (22) and spring seat (19) from the valve body.

    1. Remove four socket head bolts (23) and cover (24) .

    1. Remove three O-ring seals (26) and seal (25) from cover (27) .

    1. Remove two retaining rings (28) from the valve body.

    1. Install a suitable sized bolt in the threaded hole of plug (29) and plug (30). Pull the bolt in order to remove the plug. Remove plug (29) from the valve body.

    1. Remove plug (30) from the valve body. Remove O-ring (31) from plug (30) .

      Note: Plug (30) has a guide pin.

    1. Remove lever assembly (32) and spool (33) .

    1. Remove spool (34) from the valve body. Remove seal (35) from spool (34) .

    1. Remove lever assembly (37) and spool (36) after the pin (not shown) has been removed.

    1. Remove spool (39) from the valve body. Remove lever assembly (38) .

    1. Use a punch to remove retainer (41), spring (40) and spring seat (42). Remove seal (43) from retainer (41) .

    1. Remove fitting (44) from the valve body. Remove the O-ring seal from the fitting.

  1. Remove four socket head bolts (45) and pressure and flow compensator valve (46) from the main hydraulic pump.

  1. Disassemble pressure and flow compensator valve (46). Follow the procedure in Steps3.a through 3.r.

  1. Remove four socket head bolts (47), and carefully remove cover (48) from the support plate of the front body assembly.

  1. Remove O-ring seal (50) and lip type seal (49) from cover (48) .

  1. Remove four socket head bolts (51), support plate (52) and shaft assembly (53) from the front body assembly.

  1. Remove shaft assembly (53) from support plate (52) .

  1. Remove retaining ring (55) from shaft (61). Use a press to push shaft (61) out of spacer (59), race (58) and bearing (54) .

  1. Remove spacer (57) and washer (56) from the shaft.

  1. Separate front body assembly (62) from the block assembly.

  1. Remove swash plate (63) and two O-ring seals (64) from front body assembly (62) .

    Note: Do not allow the components to fall apart during the removal of barrel assembly (65). The piston assemblies should be reinstalled in assembly's original bore in the retainer and barrel assembly.

  1. Carefully remove barrel assembly (65) from the front body assembly. Remove O-ring seals (66) .

  1. Remove pin assembly (67) from the front body assembly. Remove plate (68) from the front body assembly.

  1. Use the following procedure to disassemble barrel assembly (65) .

    1. Put marks on nine piston assemblies (69) in order to identify the assembly's location in retainer (71) and barrel (70). Remove the retainer and piston assemblies from the barrel. Separate the piston assemblies from the retainer.

    1. Remove retainer guide (74) and washer (73) from the barrel.

    1. Remove nine springs (72) from the barrel.

    1. Remove four socket head bolts (75), and separate block assembly (76) from the rear body assembly.

    1. Remove O-ring seals (77) and (78) from the block assembly (76) .

    1. Remove plate (79) from both sides of block assembly (76) .

    1. Remove two bearings (80) and coupling (81) from the block assembly.

    1. Remove four socket head bolts (82), and remove cover (83) from the rear body assembly.

    1. Remove O-ring seal (84) from cover (83) .

      Note: Keep the parts of the front body assembly and rear body assembly separate. Do not mix the components of the front and rear body assemblies.

    1. Follow the procedure in Steps 6 through 16.c in order to disassemble the rear body assembly of the main hydraulic pump.
