Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install

Usage:

3034 3NW

Removal Procedure

Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.

NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Note: Disconnect all electrical connections to the electric starting motor before proceeding. Mark all connections for later installation.

  1. Remove three nuts (1) and cable (2) .

  1. Remove electric starting motor (3) from the engine.

Installation procedure

  1. Put electric starting motor (3) in position on the engine.

  1. Install cable (2) and three nuts (1) .

  1. Tighten the three nuts to a torque of 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

    Note: Reconnect all electrical connections to the electric starting motor before you operate the engine.
