Generator Set Control Panel for Switchgear Conversion Caterpillar

Undiagnosed problems are NOT accompanied by any type of fault indicator on the control panel. In order to troubleshoot an undiagnosed problem, find the description that best describes the problem in the Undiagnosed Problem List. Proceed to the corresponding procedure.

Note: If any fault indicator is showing on the control panel, then proceed to Testing And Adjusting, "Alert Indicator - Troubleshoot".

Note: These procedures require the Remote Starting Switch to be opened and closed many times. In order to ease the troubleshooting process, a switch that is locally acquired can be connected to the terminals of the Remote Start Switch in the customer connection box. The terminals of the Remote Start Switch are terminal 57 and terminal 30.

Undiagnosed Problem List

Engaged Starting Motor ­ Troubleshoot - The starting motor remains engaged or the starting motor continues to run after the engine has started.

No Engine Shutdown ­ Troubleshoot - There is no engine shutdown when a shutdown fault occurs.
