(1) Maximum permissible temperature of the gear for installation on the camshaft ... 315 °C (600 °F)
A torch must not be used when the gear is installed on the camshaft.
(2) Tight fit between the gear and the camshaft ... 0.062 ± 0.138 mm (0.0024 ± 0.0054 inch)
(3) Diameter of the journal surfaces for the new camshaft bearings ... 69.850 ± .013 mm (2.7500 ± 0.0005 inch)
Bore in front and rear bearings for the camshaft after assembly ... 69.969 ± 0.048 mm (2.7547 ± 0.0019 inch)
Bore in inner bearings for the camshaft after assembly ... 69.982 ± 0.061 mm (2.7552 ± 0.0024 inch)
(4) Thickness of the new thrust plate ... 4.65 ± 0.03 mm (0.183 ± 0.001 inch)
End play of the camshaft ... 0.10 to 0.25 mm (0.004 to 0.010 inch)

(5) Height of camshaft lobes
In order to find lobe height, use the procedure that follows:
- Measure camshaft lobe height (5) .
- Measure base circle (7) .
- Subtract the measurement from Step 2 from the measurement in Step 1. The difference is the actual lobe lift.
- Specified camshaft lobe lift (6)
Exhaust lobe ... 8.783 mm (0.3458 inch)
Intake lobe ... 8.100 mm (0.3189 inch)
The minimum permissible difference between the actual lobe lift and the specified camshaft lobe lift is 0.13 mm (0.0051 inch).
