Aftercooler - Install

NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Position the gasket and aftercooler housing (15) on the engine. Install bolts (16).
Install bolts (14) in aftercooler housing (15).
Install the O-ring seals on the aftercooler core.

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to aftercooler core (13). The weight of aftercooler core (13) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Position aftercooler core (13) on the engine. Install bolts (12).
Install bolt (11). This bolt is shorter than the other bolts that fasten the core to the aftercooler housing. A longer bolt would interfere with the installation of the adapters.

Install the O-ring seals on adapter (9) and adapter (10). Install adapter (9) and adapter (10). Place tube assembly (5) in position.

Position tube assembly (7) and install bolts (8). Install bolt (6).

Connect tube assemblies (4) and (5).

Install the gasket on the aftercooler housing. Install aftercooler cover (2).
Install bolts (3).
Connect elbows (1).
Refill the coolant system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".
