NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3220" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3220" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The boom one stem bottom plug may come loose on certain 345B L Excavators. If a major leak appears at the bottom of the main valve, the machine needs to be shut down. A loose plug can cause the boom function to become inoperable. A new stem assembly needs to be installed in the main control valve of the boom one stem assembly.

Action Required

1. Refer to the 345B Service Manual (SENR1934) - Main Control Valve Group - for instructions to carefully manage fluid spillage and release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits.

2. Refer to the 345B Service Manual (SENR1934) - Remove And Install Main Control Valve - point 26 and 66 - to remove the boom 1 stem assembly from the main control valve, and install a new stem assembly.
