The Remote Control System console mimics operation of the AutoCarry, AutoStow, and AutoRip inside the cab. Implement adjustments for AutoCarry, AutoStow, and AutoRip are made through the Information Display on the machine then cycled through the console. If the features are installed on the machine, then implement assist features are enabled through the console LCD.
Full Operation instructions should be used with the Machine Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Blade Assist (BA) (If Equipped)
Note: Blade assist relieves the operator from repetitive operations. Blade assist sets the blade to the correct position at the beginning and at the end of dozing segments. This feature automates blade pitch and lift control during a typical dozing cycle to reduce operator fatigue. BA can be operated with the AutoCarry function.
The typical dozing cycle has four segments.
- Load
- Carry
- Spread
- Return
Note: Parking brake (1) must be in the OFF position to activate the Blade Assist mode. If the parking brake is ON, BA will not activate properly.
Note: The operator must manually cause BA to cycle through the three functions of Load, Carry, and Spread once the function is activated on the keypad. This action is done by pressing right-hand button (7) on the blade control lever. Use the LCD of the console to select the system or deselect the system
Load Indicator Icon (When Activated) |
Load - Press button (7) on the keypad one time to activate this function. The blade will adjust the pitch that was set in the Information Display for this portion of the application. The activation of the load function will recalibrate the blade. To recalibrate the pitch, the blade will pitch all the way to the back. Then, the blade will pitch forward to the selected angle.
Carry Indicator icon (When Activated) |
Carry - Press button (7) on the keypad one time to activate this function. The blade will adjust the pitch that was set in Information Display for this portion of the application.
Spread Indicator Icon (When Activated) |
Spread - The blade will adjust the pitch that was set in Information Display for this portion of the application.
Return - When in spread mode, shifting to REVERSE will cycle ABA into a return mode. The blade will lift, reset pitch position and lower to a height set in the information display. Blade pitch will move to load position for the next pass.
Note: If the machine is equipped with the position sensor on the lift cylinder, the blade will also rise at the set rate and the set lift in Information Display.
Note: The user can override the blade assist at any time by moving the bulldozer blade control lever.
Note: To utilizeAutoCarry it is necessary to turn on the display within the cab before turning on the operator console. This is most easily done at the start of a shift during the pre-operational check. Enter the cab and press the power button on the display. Wait for the display to light up, then exit the cab and at a safe distance perform the console start sequence. Autocarry should now function normally.
The AutoCarry mode provides automatic control of the blade lift and blade lower functions during the Carry segment of a dozing cycle. This automatic control is to maintain an optimum blade load. AutoCarry helps to reduce operator fatigue while the best productivity of the machine is maintained. AutoCarry mode works best when the mode is used with BA.
Note: The operator is required to load the blade manually before activating the AutoCarry mode. AutoCarry can be activated before the blade is fully loaded. However, AutoCarry will not start controlling blade height until AutoCarry senses that the blade is full.
AutoCarry indicator icon (when activated) |
AutoCarry - Use the LCD of the console to select the system or deselect the system. The indicator icon will illuminate if the correct operating conditions are present. Press and release blade assist button (7) on the console to activate the AutoCarry function. Press and release blade assist (7) again to deactivate the AutoCarry function.
AutoCarry and Blade Assist (BA) (If Both Equipped)
When both AutoCarry and Blade Assist (BA) are installed and enabled through the console, slight changes are made to use the systems together. The Carry cycle is now replaced by AutoCarry.
The combined dozing cycles have four segments:
- Load
- AutoCarry
- Spread
- Return
Automatic Ripper Control (AutoRip)
Automatic Ripper Control (AutoRip) will control track slip and maintain drawbar pull by adjusting the ripper height and engine speed. AutoRip maintains maximum productivity, minimizes wear and tear on the machine and reduces operator fatigue.
AutoRip Icon (When enabled) |
AutoRip - Use the LCD of the console to select the system or deselect the system. To activate AutoRip, rotate the ripper control of the console counterclockwise. The indicator icon will illuminate if the correct operating conditions are present. AutoRip will activate in Forward or Reverse. Activating AutoRip automatically downshifts the machine into 1F when shifted into a Forward gear. Height control engages when machine is in First Gear Forward. Manual control of the ripper will override the AutoRip. AutoRip will take over again when there is not movement from the ripper control lever. Manual control of engine deceleration will override AutoRip. Manual control will not deactivate AutoRip.
The AutoStow feature is a ripper return feature to help the operator be more productive. When AutoStow is activated, the ripper will return to a full lifted position.
AutoStow - Rotating the knob clockwise will activate the AutoStow. Configuration of AutoStow occurs through the information display.
The Blade Tilt settings can be found in the second page of the settings menu. Once in the blade tilt menu there are two settings, single and double. The currently selected setting will have a check beside it, to select an option push the display button beside that option. If the machine is set to single tilt the blade pitch can be manipulated but the tilt will remain static. In dual tilt the blade tilt can be changed and manipulated along with the blade pitch.
