Improved Routing for the Engine Harness Assembly Is Now Available for Certain TH255C Telehandlers {1403, 1408} Caterpillar

Improved routing for the engine harness assembly is now available for the machines listed above. The improved routing has new p-clip and cable strap which eliminates the harness contact with the hood latch in the engine pod. This update will improve durability of the harness and increases the service life.

Use the following procedure for the improved routing of the engine harness assembly:

1. Use a cable strap (A) to secure the engine harness assembly (C) into the location by attaching the harness to vertical support of the engine frame. Refer to Illustration 1.

2. The orientation of the p-clip (B) that sits behind the hood latch striker plate pulls the harness away from further interference in the engine compartment. The p-clip (B) should be oriented to the 11 o' clock position. Refer to Illustration 1.
