NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat Products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Note: Repeat the process with each DEF pump.

  1. Remove 14 bolts (1) and remove two panels (2).

  2. Disconnect latch (5).

  3. Remove 26 bolts (3) and remove cover (4).

    Connection for step 5 has been made translucent for clarity.

  4. Remove two tension clamps (6) and disconnect five lines (7).

  5. Disconnect plug (8).

  6. Remove three bolts (9) and remove DEF pump (10).

Installation Procedure

    Note: To maintain cleanliness, the protective caps must remain in place until the final connections are made.

  1. Install DEF pump in reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 19 ± 4 N·m (168 ± 35 lb in).
