Description Of Change: New machine and display software is used for certain Vibratory Soil Compactors. The new machine software flash file allows C4.4 Tier 4 final engines to change RPM for aftertreatment system and functional tests with Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool.
New display software with additional languages for Chinese and Spanish is now available.
New compaction control software is now used on certain paving compactors in order to allow common software for additional machine models.
Adaptable To: The Machine Controller software is adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.

Note: Flash software is required when replacing a display or machine controller. New display modules and controllers come pre-loaded with generic software only, and require machine-specific software in order to function properly with the machine.
The software flash files must be installed with the Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar (P1STC) software program with the machine-specific P1D diagnostic file.
For display software that contains multiple languages, the desired language is displayed by selecting - Main Menu > Basic Setup > Languages.
Ensure to save the machine parameters with the Target Flash, ECM Service, procedure. The saved parameter file stores Display and Machine ECM information in one .XML type file. A machine configuration and propel calibration will be required if the parameters are not saved.
The new software is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). A newer part number may be available. SIS Web only displays the latest available flash file.
