  1. Confirm that the Operator Console Commanded Stop (26) is turned off, turn the switch clockwise to disengage.

  2. Turn the following switches to the default position.

    • "Implement Lockout" (10) ON

    • "Parking Brake" (12) ON

    • "Machine Power/Engine Crank" (11) OFF

    • "Implements Control" (9) CENTER

    • "Steering / Direction Control" (13) CENTER

  3. Make sure that the operator console is upright.

    Note: The operator console has a built-in inclinometer / accelerometer sensor which prevents operation when the console is tilted past 60 degrees in any direction or is dropped.

  4. Press the Operator Console Power button (24) to power on the operator console.

  5. Within 8 seconds, scan the Operator Console Access Card on the front-right corner of the Operator Console where the indicator label is. A dim Cat logo will appear until the Operator Console Access Card is swiped. The Cat logo will appear brighter when the card is successfully swiped.

    Note: If the Operator Console Access Card is not scanned within 8 seconds, the Operator Console will power off, and the procedure will require repeated.

  6. Place the Machine Power / Engine Crank switch (11) on the operator console to the ON (center) position.

    Note: For this test procedure there is no need to sound the horn to activate RC or start the machine engine.

  7. Press the "Engine Shutdown Switch" (34) on the "GLSC".

    Note: After performing this step, the action alarm on the console should activate. The "Active Fault LED" (19) should flash "RED" with every sound of the action alarm.

    Note: Along with the action alarm sounding the EID 678, "Ground Level Shutdown Event", code will be raised.

  8. Reset the "Engine Shutdown Switch" (34) on the "GLSC" by pulling out the switch.

    Note: Operator Console check is now complete.

Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, M0069794, "Preliminary Remote Console Checks" section within this manual for additional information to continue to activate RC.
