Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Separate the track.

2. Remove the axles.

1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

2. Adjust the top bracket of Tooling (A) Install the lower plate of Tooling (A) without the spacers.

3. Remove two bolts (1) and install Tooling (A). Install a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). The weight of the final drive, planetary assembly, and brake is approximately 794 kg (1750 lb).

4. Remove bolts (2) that hold the final drive, the planetary assembly, and the brake to the machine.

   Note: Do not remove bolts (3) that hold the final drive, the planetary assembly, and the brake together.

5. Remove bolts (4) that hold the planetary assembly and the brake to the machine.

6. Remove final drive (6). Remove planetary assembly and brake (7).

7. Remove O-ring seals (5) and O-ring seal (8) from planetary assembly and brake (7).

Installation Procedure

1. Install planetary assembly and brake (7) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 800 ± 90 N·m (590 ± 66 lb ft).

   2. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 300 ± 50 N·m (220 ± 37 lb ft). Tighten bolts (1) for another 1/3 turn. The final torque for the bolt (1) must be a minimum of 570 N·m (420 lb ft).
