Load Haul Dump:

R1700G (S/N: SBR1-UP)

Description of Change: A procedure to rework the transmission mounting bolts is now available for certain R1700G Load Haul Dump Machines. The procedure to rework the transmission mounting bolts ensures that the bolts remain tight.

Adaptable To: The procedure to rework the transmission mounting bolts is effective in production with, and adaptable to, the following machines.

Upper drive shaft (1) 0S-1748 Bolt (2) 3V-2431 Washer

1. Remove the upper drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Upper) - Remove and Install".

   Note: Discard eight 0S-1748 Bolts (1) and eight 3V-2431 Washers (2) .

2. Remove and discard Item (3) and Item (4) .

   Note: Remove and install one item at a time in order for the transmission mount to remain in position.

3. Apply Loctite 7649 to the thread where six 0S-1585 Bolts (3) where removed.

4. Install Item (3) and Item (4). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission and Output Transfer Gears - Install" for the correct tightening torque specifications.

5. Install the upper drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Upper) - Remove and Install".

   Note: Install eight 0S-1748 Bolts (1) and eight 3V-2431 Washers (2). Refer to Illustration 1.
