Monitoring System

Usage:

415F2 HWA
The Monitoring System is designed to alert the operator to an immediate problem with any of the machine systems that are monitored. The Monitoring System is also designed to alert the operator to an impending problem with any of the machine systems that are monitored.

Engine Coolant (1) - The engine coolant gauge will indicate in the red zone and the action light will flash when the engine coolant temperature is too high. An audible alarm will sound. Stop the machine at a convenient location and investigate the cause.

Fuel System Water Separator Indicator (2) - The alert indicator indicates water in the fuel. Action light (5) will also illuminate. An audible alarm will sound. Stop the engine, drain the water from the bowl, then restart the engine.

Fuel Level (3) - The fuel level gauge will indicate in the red zone when the fuel level is 12.5% of the tank capacity. An audible alarm will sound.

Engine Malfunction Indicator (4) - The engine malfunction indicator will illuminate amber when there is a fault with the engine.

Action Light (5) - Malfunction in a machine system.

Charging System (6) - The charging system gauge will indicate red and an action light will illuminate if the system voltage is too low or too high for normal machine operation.

Force Regeneration (7) - This indicator illuminates to show that a force regeneration of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is required. To perform a force regeneration, access the service menu and locate the force regeneration indicator, then press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for 20 seconds.

Torque Converter Temperature (8) - The torque converter temperature gauge will indicate red when the torque converter temperature exceeds 121° C (250° F). Action light (5) will also illuminate and the action alarm will sound. Stop the machine at a convenient location and investigate the cause. The torque converter temperature indicator will flash when there is a fault with the torque converter temperature sensor. Note: The minimum Torque Converter Temperature that will be displayed is 30° C (86° F).

Engine Oil Pressure Indicator (9) - When the engine oil pressure is low, the following will happen: the alert indicator will illuminate, action light (5) will flash and an audible alarm will sound. If this alert indicator illuminates, stop the machine immediately. Stop the engine, engage the parking brake, and investigate the cause.

LCD (10) - The LCD will display available menus.

Wait to Start Indicator (11) - The wait to start indicator will illuminate when the glow plugs are active. Do not start the engine until this indicator turns off.

The home screen view will display the gear, total machine hours, rpm, battery voltage, and torque converter oil temperature.

The left side of the display is navigable. To scroll through available options, use the navigation scroll switch. To select an item, press OK on the navigation select switch. Available items to view are as followed: battery voltage, torque converter temperature, engine coolant temperature, totals, service and settings.

Totals Menu

Available totals menu views are as followed: trip totals, lifetime totals, trip fuel used, trip fuel rate, trip machine hours, total fuel used and total fuel rate.

Totals Menu - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, press OK on the navigation select switch to access totals menu options.

Trip Totals - Shown within the totals menu, press OK on the navigation select switch to display the trip totals.

Trip Fuel Used - Shown within the trip totals menu, shows total fuel used on this trip. To reset this trip total, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for five seconds.

Trip Average Fuel - Shown within the trip totals menu, shows average fuel used on this trip. To reset this trip total, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for five seconds.

Trip Hours - Shown within the trip totals menu, shows machine hours on this trip. To reset this trip total, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for five seconds.

Lifetime Totals - Found within the totals menu, press OK on the navigation select switch to display the lifetime totals.

Total Fuel Used - Shown within the trip totals menu, shows total fuel used. Pressing OK on the navigation select switch will return to the previous menu.

Total Average Fuel - Shown within the trip totals menu, shows average fuel. Pressing OK on the navigation select switch will return to the previous menu.

Service Menu

Available service menu views are as followed: service hours, diagnostic and events, ECM summary/system information, engine oil life reset and DPF force regen.

Service - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, press OK on the navigation select switch to access service menu options.

Service Hours - Shown within the service menu, shows service hours. To reset service hours, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for five seconds.

Diagnostics & Events - Shown within the service menu, shows diagnostics and events. To view diagnostics and events, press OK on the navigation select switch.

ECM Summary - Shown within the service menu, shows the ECM summary. To view the summary, press OK on the navigation select switch.

Engine Oil Life Reset - Shown within the service menu, shows the option to reset engine oil life. To reset the engine oil life, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for 20 seconds. The display will blink several times and a check mark will be placed next to the engine oil life reset icon to indicate that the reset was successful.

Force Regeneration - Shown within the service menu, shows the option to begin a force regeneration. To begin a force regeneration, press and hold OK on the navigation select switch for 20 seconds. A force regeneration is only required when the force regeneration indicator is illuminated.

Settings Menu

Available settings menu views are as followed: display units, brightness and auxiliary flow.

Settings - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, press OK on the navigation select switch to access setting menu options.

Units - Shown within the settings menu, allows you to select metric or English units. Pressing OK on the navigation select switch will toggle between metric and English units.

Screen Brightness - Shown within the settings menu, allows you to adjust the brightness of the display. Pressing OK on the navigation select switch, then using the navigation scroll switch, you can adjust the brightness of the display up or down. Once a desired brightness is obtained, press OK on the navigation select switch.

Message Display Indicators

High Exhaust System Temperature (HEST) - This indicator will illuminate when a regeneration is in process. This indicator shows that elevated emission temperatures are possible and low idle engine speed may be elevated. This indicator will turn off when regeneration is complete.

Battery Voltage - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, the battery voltage is shown.

Torque Converter Temperature - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, the temperature of the torque converter is shown.

Engine Coolant Temperature - Shown on the left navigable portion of the home screen, the temperature of the engine coolant is shown.

MSS - This indicator will illuminate when the machine security system is locked.
