Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the front tire and rim.

1. Remove 2 of bolts (1). Disconnect hose assembly (2) .

2. Attach Tooling (A) onto brake caliper (3). The weight of brake caliper (3) is approximately 161 kg (355 lb).

3. Remove bolts (4) and shims (5) .

4. Use a suitable pry bar to loosen brake caliper (3) .

   Note: Do not use the brake rotor for leverage when using a pry bar.

5. Remove brake caliper (3) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install brake caliper (3) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Install a number of shims that will center brake caliper (3) over the brake rotor within ± 1.27 mm (0.05 inch).

   2. Remove the air from the brake system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge" for the correct procedure to remove air from the brake system
