Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.


  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  2. Open grill assembly (1).

  3. Remove shield (2).

  4. Disconnect temperature sensor (3) from the combustion head.

  5. Cut all cable straps (4) that secure temperature sensor (3) to the exhaust module.

  6. Disconnect temperature sensor (3) from inlet module (5) in order to remove temperature sensor (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install temperature sensor (3) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of temperature sensor (3). Tighten temperature sensor (3) to a torque of 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 4 lb ft).
