| NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44457" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
| The existing valve lash adjusting screw could fail at early hours on certain 793F, 795F, 797F Off-Highway Trucks, C175-16 Generator Sets, C175-16 Locomotive Engines, C175-16 Petroleum Engines, and C175-20 Generator Sets. If the existing adjusting screw fails it can lead to upper valve train damage and possibly severe engine damage. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Remove all 236-0540 Adjusting Screws from dealer parts stock that were packaged between 01NOV2013 and 01MAY2014. |
| Replace existing valve lash adjusting screws with new adjusting screws of the same part number, and reset valve lash settings. The following steps should be taken in the event of an after failure repair. 1. Inspect camshaft lobes 2. Inspect lifter assembly 3. Inspect push rod 4. Inspect rocker arm assembly 5. Inspect engine block 6. Flush as needed |
