PROBLEM
The 3582545/">358-2545 Oil Filter Housings may have a casting flaw which can lead to failure on certain C175-16 Marine Engines, and Petroleum Engines. Oil can leak from the housing if the casting fails. |

****Inspection**** Inspect each oil filter housing on the engine, see image 1.1.1. If the oil filter housing has a "DT" mark on the side no further action is needed on that housing, see image 1.1.2. If the oil filter housing has a "CP" mark on the side replacement of the oil filter canister is required, see image 1.1.3. The 3582545/">358-2545 CHG-01 parts from Morton Stock are manufactured with the improved process. |

****Replacement**** - Please review the Safety Actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the engine before completing the attached Rework Procedure. 1) Remove oil filters per Operation and Maintenance Manual. 2) Remove end covers and tubes, see image 1.2.1. 3) Remove oil filter housings, see image 1.2.2. 4) Replace oil filter housings using new seals, see image 1.2.3. 5) Replace oil filters. |
