Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be cleaned thoroughly in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
- Install poppet (13), spring (14) and retainer (15) in position in spool assembly (11). Install retaining ring (16) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment. |

- Install spacer (12) into spool assembly (11) .
- Install O-ring (10) and spool assembly (11) into valve body (1) .
Note: Spacers (12) are used to adjust the pressure that is needed to open the torque converter outlet relief valve. For the correct procedure, refer to Testing and Adjusting for the machine that is being serviced.

- Install cover (9) and bolts (8). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 48 ± 7 N·m (35 ± 5 lb ft).

- Install plugs (7) and O-ring seal (5) in valve body (1) .

- Install spring (6) .
- Install cover (4) and bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 48 ± 7 N·m (35 ± 5 lb ft).
