Failure to properly service the batteries may cause personal injury. Prevent sparks near the batteries. Sparks could cause vapors to explode. Do not smoke when near a battery. Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if acid contacts skin or eyes. Always wear eye protection when removing and installing a battery. Improper cable connections can cause an explosion resulting in personal injury. Turn off the machine engine start switch. Turn the machine main battery disconnect switch to the disconnected position. Otherwise, some components will operate when the energy source is connected. Note: When the batteries are replaced, always use the same type of battery, recycle, and discard properly Return used batteries to one of the following locations:

- Park the machine on a level surface. Engage the parking brake.
- Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".
- Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Turn all the switches to the OFF position.
- Wait 5 minutes.
- Remove the bolts (1) on front panel from the onboard autonomous cabinet and remove panel.

- Unplug battery connector.
- Remove bolts and replace battery (2).
- Fasten bolts to new battery.
- Plug in battery connector.
- Label the case of the replacement battery with the following: "Battery replaced on [MONTH], [DATE], [YEAR]".
- Install front panel and fasten bolts.
- Remove the lockout for the battery disconnect switch. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
