Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Motor Graders shipped from the Decatur facility are placed in shipping mode only. Motor Graders shipped from Caterpillar Brazil Ltd. (CBL) are placed in shipping mode and with the front axle wheel lean bar pinned. The lean bar is pinned in order to eliminate unintentional movement of the lean bar cylinder.
Solution
Motor Graders shipped from the Decatur facility will now have the front axle wheel lean bar pinned during initial shipment for commonality with CBL process. The wheel lean bar pin must be removed when the machine is out of ship mode. Removing the pin will prevent damage to the wheel lean bar or the front axle center indicator.
