Description of Change: A new cover plate for the bottom guard is now used. The new cover has two improvements. The first improvement is the addition of a stiffener plate that will lessen the possibility of debris from puncturing through the cover into the engine oil pan. The second improvement is a change from a cover with two bolts for mounting to a cover with one bolt and a tab for mounting. This improvement will prevent the bottom bolt from getting sheared when the machine is used in adverse conditions.

Adaptable To: The new 318-0640 Cover Assembly can be installed on existing bottom guards as a direct replacement for 107-6174 Cover Assembly. A new washer and a new bolt are also required. For bottom guards that have metric threads, the new part numbers will be 8T-4136 Bolt and 8T-4222 Plated Washer. For bottom guards that have standard threads, the new part numbers will be 4L-6454 Bolt and 2D-6414 Washer .

If a new middle bottom guard is ordered, a new 318-0640 Cover Assembly will be ordered automatically, as the old 107-6174 Cover Assembly is not adaptable to the new middle bottom guard assemblies.
