Perform the following procedure in order to flash the MINEGEM Automation Interface Control Module (ICM). The Automation ICM is flashed in order to upgrade the software.
Download Program Operation
The download program is used to install new software in the Automation ICM Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) module. The PLC module has two separate PLC modules:
- PLC1
- PLC2
These modules require the software file to be installed separately.
Installing New Software to PLC1 and PLC2
- Remove Automation ICM cover (2) using a 351-1151 Posthex bit Tool and a 9U-7291 Ratcheting Screwdriver from the 351-1138 Diagnostic Tool Kit .

- Connect 351-1145 programming cable (5) to AICM programming port (3) and 351-1146 programming cable (6) .

- Connect 351-1146 programming cable (6) to a serial port on IBM-compatible laptop (1) .
Note: Use 351-1146 programming cable for PLC1 and 351-1148 programming cable for PLC2.
Note: Use 327-0375 Adapter Kit (7) if IBM-compatible laptop (1) does not have a serial port.
Note: Do not stop the process. The ECM will be damaged and replaced.
- Use the Automation ICM tool in order to load the software.
- Select Download icon (8) .

- Select Interface menu (9) .

- Double-click "RS232" (10) .
- Set "RS232" (10) communication port settings as shown. "COM-Port" (11) should be set to the COM port (12) that is to be connected. Select "OK" (13) .

- Communications to PLC1 are confirmed when the confirmation window appears. Select "OK" (15) .

- Select the new software file (17) for PLC1 and then click "Open" (18) .
Note: Select the new software file (19) for PLC2 and then click "Open" (20) .

- A window will appear after approximately 30 seconds to confirm that the download was successful. Select "OK" (21) .

- Select software file (17) for PLC1 and select "Open" (23). The file will verify the software on PLC1 with the file that was installed.
Note: Select software file (19) for PLC2.

- "Verify successful" (24) should appear if the verify process was successful. Select "OK" (25) .

- Disconnect programming cable (5) and programming cable (6) from AICM programming port (3) in the Automation ICM. Replace Automation ICM cover (2) .
