Usage:
1. Disconnect two fuel lines (1).
2. Remove four bolts (2), pump (3) and the gasket.
3. Install in reverse order.
Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump
Start By:
a. remove fuel transfer pump
1. Remove cover (3) from the pump.
2. Remove O-ring seal (1) and bypass valve (2) from cover (3).
3. Remove gear (4) from body (5).
4. Use Tool (B) and a hydraulic press to remove gear (6) from shaft (7).

Do not press on the slotted end of shaft (7). |
5. Use a hydraulic press to remove gear (8) from shaft (7).
6. Remove plug (11), spring (10) and relief valve (9) from body (5).
7. Remove idler shaft (12) from body (5).
8. Use Tool (A) to remove bearing (13) from body (5). Remove the two lip-type seals that are behind bearing (13).
Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Use Tool (A) to install lip-type seal (14) with the lip up as shown. Install the seal so dimension (X) is 27.22 ± 0.13 mm (1.072 ± .005 in).
2. Use Tool (A) to install lip type seal (15) with the lip down as shown. Install the seal so dimension (Y) is 14.61 mm ± 0.13 mm (0.575 ± .005 in).
3. Put clean diesel fuel on the lips of lip type seals (14) and (15).
4. Use Tool (A) to install bearing (13) in the body. Install the bearing so it is even with the end of the body as shown.
5. Install gear (8) so dimension (Z) equals 9.25 ± 0.50 mm (.364 ± .020 in).
6. Install shaft (7) to body (5).
7. Heat gear (6) to a maximum temperature of 316° C (600° F) and install on shaft (7). Install gear (6) so shaft (7) is recessed by 0.022 to 0.048 mm (.0009 to .0019 in).
8. Install idler shaft (12) and gear (4) to body (5).
9. If removed, install the O-ring seal on plug (11). Install relief valve (9), spring (10) and plug (11) to body (5).
10. Install O-ring seal (1) and bypass valve (2) to cover (3).
11. Install cover (3) to the pump.
