The auxiliary circuit breaker receives power when the main power relay is energized. The 111-YL wire distributes power from the auxiliary circuit breaker to contact "85" and to contact "87" of the hydraulic generator relay.
When the generator control switch is in the ON position, the left operator control unit reads a complete circuit at terminal "J2-29". In this situation, the left operator control unit sends a signal via the Cat Data Link and the Can lines to the machine ECM. In this case, the machine ECM sends an engine speed request to the engine ECM through the Cat Data Link. When the generator is on, the engine ECM operates the engine at 1250 rpm. When the generator switch is in the ON position, the machine ECM also sends a ground signal from terminal "J2-9" to contact "86" of the hydraulic generator relay. This ground signal energizes the coil of the hydraulic generator relay.
When the hydraulic generator relay is energized, power is transferred from the auxiliary circuit breaker to the hydraulic generator solenoid. When the hydraulic generator solenoid is energized, hydraulic oil is directed to the generator motor. The generator motor turns the generator.

When the generator relay is energized, terminal "E+" on the generator terminal board is connected to terminal "E+" on the generator circuit board. This completes the circuit for the generator excitation current and this causes the generator to produce power.
When the tool enable switch is in the ON position, terminal "J1-63" of the machine ECM is connected to ground. In this case, the machine ECM prompts the engine ECM to maintain the engine speed at 1250 rpm. This engine speed maintains an electrical outlet frequency of 62.5 ± 1.0 Hz.

The generator provides power to the circuit breakers in the generator circuit breaker panel. The 35 amp main circuit breaker distributes power to the circuit breakers in the generator power panel. Each of the 20 amp GFI circuit breakers distributes power to a screed heating element, if the machine is equipped with electric screed heaters.
Each 240 volt outlet on the generator power panel is protected by a 20 amp circuit breaker. The 120 volt outlets on the generator power panel are protected in pairs by 15 amp circuit breakers.
