The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Reports have been received of the failure of the harness wires for the detent coil on machines that are equipped with dual direction control. Failure of the detent coil wires results from rubbing and wear of the wires during machine operations. The pilot valves that are affected by this problem are identified in Table 1.

Table 1
233-5829 Pilot Valve (LH)     236, 246, 252 and 262 machines
233-5732 Pilot Valve (LH)     236B, 246B, 248B, 252B, 262B, and 268B machines
247-1751 Pilot Valve (LH)     267B, 277B, and 287B machines

View of the pilot control valve with flexible conduit

(1) 211-5358 Flexible Conduit

Install a 650 mm (25.6 inch) length of 211-5358 Flexible Conduit over the braid covered harness.

Note: The flexible conduit is split along the length. The flexible conduit can be installed without removing the harness.

Apply a wrap of 1P-0810 Electrical Tape in order to fasten the end of the flexible conduit to the harness.
