Description of Change: A new compound is used in order to retain the bolts on the hoist cylinders. The new compound is for bolts with larger diameters. The new compound provides better retention of the bolts.

Adaptable To: The new 4C-9506 Retaining Compound is now used on the 8X-3380 Cylinder Mounting Gp. The new retaining compound became effective in production with the machine FDB240-UP. The new compound can be used on machines back to the start of production.

If the 8C-3222 Bolts are loose on the hoist cylinder, do the following procedure.

1. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly module for your machine.

2. Remove the 8X-2787 Cover (4) .

3. Remove the 8C-3222 Bolts (6) and the 2A-6662 Plates (5). Discard the bolts and the plates.

4. On the new 8C-3222 Bolts (2), apply 4C-9506 Retaining Compound (3) .

5. Install the new bolts (2) and new plates (1) to the hoist cylinder. Torque the bolts to 1820 ± 100 N·m (1350 ± 75 lb ft).

6. Install cover (4) .
