Service Magazine, SEPD0197, 14 March 1994, "Higher Hoist Relief Valve Group Settings Can Give Increased Hoist Pressure". Disregard this article. Please see the article that follows.

The setting for the 9J-0622 Relief Valve, which is part of the 9T-5714 Control Valve Gp, can be increased from 17225 ± 175 kPa (2500 ± 25 psi) to 18950 ± 175 kPa (2750 ± 25 psi).

This setting can be increased in order to increase the hoist pressure on 775B Quarry Truck. A new spring in the 9J-0622 Relief Valve makes the increased pressure possible.

9J-0622 Relief Valve

(1) 3H-2549 Shims

(2) 2J-2866 Shims

(3) 3G-7402 Spring

In order to increase the pressure relief setting, replace the 2J-6089 Spring with a 3G-7402 Spring (3). During the installation of spring (3), install three 3H-2549 Shims (1) and four 2J-2866 Shims (2) .

In order to reach a pressure relief setting of 18950 ± 175 kPa (2750 ± 25 psi), add shims or remove shims.

Note: Removing one 2J-2866 Shims will increase the relief pressure by approximately 310 kPa (45 psi). Adding one 3H-2549 Shim will increase the relief pressure by approximately 655 kPa (95 psi).
